Window Stickers Are Getting a Major Upgrade on C8Tracker

I'm sure most of you have noticed that GM's links for downloading window stickers have been pretty flaky over the last week or so. It's been annoying for me, and I'm sure it's been just as frustrating for those of you using the site.

A few months ago, I started saving copies of every window sticker as part of the regular data updates. I also realized that I had quite a few window stickers saved from previous model years.

I'm sure you can see where this is going...

I've started uploading all of those saved window stickers to C8Tracker. Going forward, the site will also automatically save and host new window stickers as they're discovered during data updates. This should make viewing window stickers on C8Tracker much more reliable, without having to depend on GM's servers being available.

For vehicles where I don't have a saved window sticker, I'll still link directly to GM in the hope that it's available there.

You'll also notice a small change to the price tag icons used to view window stickers:

  • Outline price tag: The window sticker link goes directly to GM.

  • Solid blue price tag: The window sticker is hosted on C8Tracker.

Now for the interesting part...

I have somewhere around 100,000 window stickers saved that I'm working on adding to the site. As I'm writing this, I've already uploaded roughly 50,000–60,000 of them.

What's particularly exciting is that many of these are from older model years, and GM no longer makes those window stickers available. That means C8Tracker will soon have window stickers for thousands of Corvettes that you simply can't get from GM anymore.

In fact, we may be about to become the only place you can find window stickers for many of the older C8 Corvettes. That's a pretty big win for the site and everyone who uses it.

Getting all of the older window stickers added will take some time. It's not something I'm treating as a huge priority, especially since there are plenty of other things I'm working on. As usual, I plan to automate most of the process and let it run gradually over the next month or two.

As always, thanks for using C8Tracker! Extra thanks to those who kicked in some money to help cover the bills. It is very much appreciated! If anyone hasn't noticed on the Support C8Tracker link... anyone with a registered account that donates $25 or more will get their account upgraded to remove all adds from the site. I still have to update accounts manually, so give me a few hours to get it done :)

A lot of the improvements I make to the site aren't necessarily things you'll notice right away. Some are behind-the-scenes changes like this one that make the site faster, more reliable, or just more useful.

But I can assure you of one thing: I'm borderline obsessed with making C8Tracker the best site of its kind. And I don't see that changing anytime soon.
